Bible Study – God’s Will Behind the Parable of the Vineyard

Chengxin

At dusk, after I prayed to the Lord at my desk, I read chapter 20 of the Gospel of Matthew where it says that those who went into the vineyard early finally got the same wages as those who went late. I thought, “If those of us who have sacrificed and labored for the Lord for many years finally get the same wages as those who work for Him late, won’t this be God purposely favoring the latecomers?” I always thought so.

Does Being Forgiven Our Sins Mean We Are Saved?

By Lu Qing, Hong Kong

The Bible says, “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Rom 10:9). “For whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom 10:13). Believing in the Lord, we think that as long as we accept the salvation of the Lord Jesus’ crucifixion, we are already saved, and that whoever confessing with the mouth, believing in the heart and being baptized shall be saved. It is because we will always be saved once we are saved. However, we have to face a realistic question: Although we are saved, we continue to live in a state of sinning and confessing without any outlet. What is really going on? Is being saved equal to receiving full salvation?

Why Are the Names of God Different in Every Age?

By Qingxin

It is recorded in the Old Testament, “I, even I, am Jehovah; and beside Me there is no savior” (Isaiah 43:11). “Jehovah … is My name for ever, and this is My memorial to all generations” (Exodus 3:15). It clearly states in the Scriptures that the name of Jehovah is for ever, and yet it says in the New Testament that God’s name changed to Jesus, as it says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8). Why does God’s name change? What is the mystery behind this?

What Is True Salvation?

HHello Sister Wang Qiao:

As is known to us believers, the Lord Jesus carried out a stage of work of redemption for mankind. The pastors and elders often preach that we are saved as long as we acknowledge the Lord Jesus with our mouth and believe in Him in our hearts. Just as the Bible says, “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation” (Romans 10:9–10). So, they believe as long as we acknowledge the Lord’s name, confess and repent to the Lord, we are saved. And once we are saved, we are eternally saved. However, recently I’ve heard some brothers and sisters who had gone out to listen to sermons say that believing in the Lord Jesus only means receiving His redemption and having one’s sins pardoned, but not truly attaining salvation. As for what true salvation is, our church’s brothers and sisters often discuss it, but we haven’t got a certain answer. And I still don’t understand it. So I wonder how you understand it. Looking forward to your reply!

Yours sincerely,

Kewang
