What “Midnight” in Bible Prophecy Refers to?

By Wu Meng

One summer evening, the weather was sweltering. People sat at the benches in the park to enjoy the cool air under the trees. Lisa was strolling in the park alone, she raised her head and looked up at the sky for a while, and then looked down to think, with a face full of worry.

Why Does the Lord Jesus Call Jehovah Father?

By Xiaojie

One day when reading the Bible, I came across the following verses, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, see, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting on him: And see a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:16-17), and the Lord Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will” (Matthew 26:39). I thought to myself, “Since God called the Lord Jesus His beloved Son and the Lord Jesus called God in heaven Father, the Lord Jesus must be the Son of God.” But then it occurred to me, “Isn’t there only one true God? How come there is the relationship of Father and Son?” With this question, I consulted many spiritual books, but to my disappointment, none of them could resolve my confusion.

I Learned to Discern False Christ at Bible Study Meetings

By Chengshan, United States

At present, many brothers and sisters dare not listen to sermons with their guards down for fear of being deceived by false Christs. But shutting our doors and keeping to ourselves like this will delay our life progress, and even cause us to miss the opportunity to welcome the Lord. We may even be abandoned by Him. Actually, as long as we grasp the principles of differentiating false Christs, we will automatically not be deceived by them. After attending some Bible study meetings, not only did I grasp the principles of differentiating false Christs, but I also got good news.

What Is the Mystery of the Names of God in the Bible?

By Zheng Youming

There are many verses in the Bible about God’s names. The names God takes all hold significance. Let’s see God’s names in the Old Testament:

Jehovah: Exodus 3:15 states, “And God said moreover to Moses, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial to all generations.

How Should We Welcome the Lord When He Comes Knocking at the Door?

By Xiao Fei

After I began to believe in the Lord, the brothers and sisters liked to sing a hymn called “Our Beloved Is Knocking at the Door” which goes: “Our beloved is knocking at the door, His hair wet with dew; let us quickly rise and open the door, and not let our beloved turn around and leave. …” Every time we started to sing this hymn, our hearts were deeply moved and stirred. We all wanted to ask our beloved to stay the night, and when He comes and knocks at the door, we wanted to be the first to hear His voice and welcome the Lord. You could say that all of us who believe in the Lord retain such a hope. But when the Lord comes, how will He knock at the door? When the Lord knocks, what should we do to welcome Him? This is something everyone who believes in the Lord should ponder deeply.

Is the Word “Once Saved, Always Saved” Tenable?

By Li Min

Is the Word “Once Saved, Always Saved” Tenable?

I believe many brothers and sisters in the Lord are familiar with the word “salvation” and want to be saved by believing in the Lord. Moreover, everyone preaches these words “Once saved, always saved.” Then, does once saved mean always saved? If we want to figure out this question, we first need to know if these words are right and if there is any reference in the Lord’s word? Whatever views we hold onto, we shall not rely on our own notions and imaginations. Only if we find the basis from God’s word can we act in harmony with God’s will.

How to Prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

By Li Chunmei, South Korea

Editor’s Note:

Some Christians believe “When the Lord returns, He will certainly appear to all of humanity on a cloud in a spiritual body. Any testimony about the Lord’s return as incarnate is false.” The author also held this belief, and so put her guard up when hearing that the Lord has become flesh to appear and work. How did she finally relax her guard and welcome the Lord’s return?

What Is the Meaning of the Rapture in the Bible?

For every Christian who is waiting devoutly for the return of the Lord, the topic of the believers’ rapture when the Lord returns in the last days is always attractive. None of believers are not expecting to be raptured into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord comes back. However, what on earth is the true meaning of rapture? Does it really mean that the believers are lifted into the air by the Lord in the last days? To understand this aspect of the truth, let’s first read several verses. Acts 8:39-40 says, “And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.” According to man’s thought, since here it is said that Philip was caught away by the Spirit of the Lord, he was taken to heaven. Yet, in fact, “Philip was found at Azotus” and he preached the gospel in all cities, doing the Lord’s will on earth. From this we can see that Philip was not taken into heaven but was still on the earth.
