In the church, Pastor Zhu who wore a suit and leather shoes was standing at the pulpit, with a Bible in his hand. He preached: “Brothers and sisters, the prophecies of Jesus’ return in the Revelation have basically been fulfilled. We shall be watching and waiting. Now is the time that the Lord comes again, so we must keep our meetings no matter how weak we are.”

Though many people believe in God, few understand what faith in God means, and what they must do to be after God’s heart. This is because, though people are familiar with the word “God” and phrases such as “the work of God,” they do not know God, much less do they know His work. No wonder, then, that all those who do not know God are possessed of a muddled belief. People do not take belief in God seriously because believing in God is too unfamiliar, too strange for them. In this way, they fall short of the demands of God. In other words, if people do not know God, do not know His work, then they are not fit for God’s use, much less can they fulfill the desire of God. “Belief in God” means believing that there is a God; this is the simplest concept of faith in God. What’s more, believing that there is a God is not the same as truly believing in God; rather, it is a kind of simple faith with strong religious overtones. True faith in God means experiencing the words and work of God based on a belief that God holds sovereignty over all things. So you shall be freed of your corrupt disposition, shall fulfill the desire of God, and shall come to know God. Only through such a journey can you be said to believe in God. Yet people often see belief in God as something very simple and frivolous. The belief of such people is meaningless and shall never gain the approval of God, because they tread the wrong path. Today, there are still those who believe in God in letters, in hollow doctrines. They are unaware that their belief in God has no substance, and that they are unable to gain the approval of God, and they still pray for peace and sufficient grace from God. We should stop and ask ourselves: Could believing in God really be the easiest thing on earth? Does believing in God mean nothing more than receiving much grace from God? Can people who believe in God but do not know Him, and believe in God yet oppose Him, really fulfill the desire of God?

After reading the verse in the Scripture, “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Rom 10:9), many brothers and sisters in the Lord then think: The Lord Jesus was crucified as a sin offering to redeem us, so we have already been saved because of our belief in Him. Therefore, there’s no need to receive any other salvation. And we’ll be raptured into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord comes. Is this viewpoint correct? Have we been truly saved by accepting the Lord Jesus’ redemption? And what exactly is being truly saved? If we are unclear about this question, we will easily miss the opportunity of being saved by God.

A little girl tripped on an examination question. She answered the capital of America was New York rather than Washington. So she prayed, and asked God to move its capital from Washington DC to NewYork.
As disasters strike, you may say that they have not befallen you and there is nothing to worry about; maybe you live in worries and concerns all days, not knowing when the disaster will happen to you; perhaps you feel that the Lord will protect us as soon as we pray to the Lord and have faith in Him. But no matter what kind of thought we have, there is a question that is worth each of us considering: As the disaster is so severe and many people around the world die in disasters every day, how can we greet the Lord and obtain His protection before the disaster?

A Chance Encounter in the Church
On a Sunday in March 2017, a sister of our church dragged an aunt passing by the church to attend our meeting, and I happened to know that she was my fellow villager through her introduction. It was the first time that I met a person from my hometown since I came to America three years ago, and moreover, she was a sister in the Lord. I fell into her arms and cried at once. After that, we always spent time together and we treated each other as family. And later the aunt recommended Brother Liu to study the Bible with us.
