What Is the Mystery of the Names of God in the Bible?

By Zheng Youming

There are many verses in the Bible about God’s names. The names God takes all hold significance. Let’s see God’s names in the Old Testament:

Jehovah: Exodus 3:15 states, “And God said moreover to Moses, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial to all generations.

How Should We Welcome the Lord When He Comes Knocking at the Door?

By Xiao Fei

After I began to believe in the Lord, the brothers and sisters liked to sing a hymn called “Our Beloved Is Knocking at the Door” which goes: “Our beloved is knocking at the door, His hair wet with dew; let us quickly rise and open the door, and not let our beloved turn around and leave. …” Every time we started to sing this hymn, our hearts were deeply moved and stirred. We all wanted to ask our beloved to stay the night, and when He comes and knocks at the door, we wanted to be the first to hear His voice and welcome the Lord. You could say that all of us who believe in the Lord retain such a hope. But when the Lord comes, how will He knock at the door? When the Lord knocks, what should we do to welcome Him? This is something everyone who believes in the Lord should ponder deeply.

Is the Word “Once Saved, Always Saved” Tenable?

By Li Min

Is the Word “Once Saved, Always Saved” Tenable?

I believe many brothers and sisters in the Lord are familiar with the word “salvation” and want to be saved by believing in the Lord. Moreover, everyone preaches these words “Once saved, always saved.” Then, does once saved mean always saved? If we want to figure out this question, we first need to know if these words are right and if there is any reference in the Lord’s word? Whatever views we hold onto, we shall not rely on our own notions and imaginations. Only if we find the basis from God’s word can we act in harmony with God’s will.

What Is the Meaning of the Rapture in the Bible?

For every Christian who is waiting devoutly for the return of the Lord, the topic of the believers’ rapture when the Lord returns in the last days is always attractive. None of believers are not expecting to be raptured into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord comes back. However, what on earth is the true meaning of rapture? Does it really mean that the believers are lifted into the air by the Lord in the last days? To understand this aspect of the truth, let’s first read several verses. Acts 8:39-40 says, “And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.” According to man’s thought, since here it is said that Philip was caught away by the Spirit of the Lord, he was taken to heaven. Yet, in fact, “Philip was found at Azotus” and he preached the gospel in all cities, doing the Lord’s will on earth. From this we can see that Philip was not taken into heaven but was still on the earth.

Why Did Jesus Christ Only Give Peter the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven?

By Yang Qing

I Was Confused When Reading the Scriptures

This morning, after the morning prayer, I opened the Bible and read chapter 16, verse 19 of the Gospel of Matthew where the Lord Jesus said to Peter, “And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” When reading the verses, I thought: There were twelve disciples of the Lord Jesus, but why did He give the keys to Peter rather than the others? What did Peter do so that the Lord was so pleased with him? If I can figure these questions out and act according to Peter’s actions, then won’t I also earn the Lord’s praise and in the future enter into the kingdom of heaven? However, I still didn’t make them clear after reading these verses several times and then I had to eat breakfast first and go to work.

I Found the Answers After Consulting My Colleagues

During the lunch break, I inquired of a colleague who believed in the Lord, and she was glad to help me.

She said, “In the past I was puzzled by the scripture, too. Later, I read Matthew 16: 13-19 several times and contemplated them carefully. Thank God’s enlightenment. I came to understand the Lord’s will.

How Can Christians Enter the Kingdom of Heaven?

Brother Zhen:

In the last co-workers meeting, I heard your perspectives about Eastern Lightning, and I thought Eastern Lightning is indeed worth our seeking and investigating. However, I heard witnesses of Eastern Lightning fellowship, “In the last days, God has become flesh again and is performing the work of judgment beginning from the house of God. Only if we accept the truth expressed by Christ in the last days can we be purified and enter the kingdom of heaven.” Regarding this, I am rather confused: We have received the Lord’s redemption by believing in Him, with our sins forgiven, so when the Lord comes again we will be directly raptured into the kingdom of heaven. However, Eastern Lightning witnesses said that if we don’t accept the judgment work of Christ in the last days, we won’t be able to enter the kingdom of heaven. Brother Zhen, I want to hear your opinions on this question. I’m looking forward to your reply!

Sincerely yours,

Yang Ming’en

Dear Brother Yang:

Thank the Lord! I am very glad to hear from you. As for your question, I will communicate some of my understandings, and I hope they will be helpful to you.

How Can We Be Raptured Before the Disasters?

Greet the Lord

The Lord Jesus said, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come” (John 16: 12-13). In Revelation chapters 2 to 3, it’s prophesied several times: “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” And Revelation 3:20 also says: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.” From the words of the Lord Jesus, we understand that the Lord will come in the last days to guide us into all truth. In other words, God will speak words to the churches, and knock at the door of our heart with His words. Being wise virgins is the only way for us to welcome the Lord and be raptured before the Lord prior to the disasters: We should humbly seek and investigate it when we hear some people testify that the Lord has come back and spoken words, and should pay attention to discerning whether those words are the voice of God and whether they are authoritative and powerful. In other words, whether a person can be raptured before God depends on whether they can recognize God’s voice, whether they can humbly seek the Holy Spirit’s words to the churches, and keep up with the footsteps of God. This is the key to be raptured before God’s throne, just like Peter, John, and all the other people who accepted the Lord’s salvation finally recognized the Lord’s voice from His words and work and followed the Lamb’s footsteps because they had a heart to humbly seek and focused on listening to the Lord Jesus’ preachings.

What Are the Consequences of Just Awaiting the Lord’s Coming on a Cloud?

Only the True Christ Can Express the Truth

Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen” (Revelation 1:7).

God says, “I tell you, those who believe in God because of the signs are surely the category that shall be destroyed. Those who are incapable of receiving the words of Jesus who has returned to flesh are surely the progeny of hell, the descendants of the archangel, the category that shall be subjected to everlasting destruction. Many people may not care what I say, but I still want to tell every so-called saint who follows Jesus that, when you see Jesus descend from the heaven upon a white cloud with your own eyes, this will be the public appearance of the Sun of righteousness. Perhaps that will be a time of great excitement for you, yet you should know that the time when you witness Jesus descend from the heaven is also the time when you go down to hell to be punished. That will be the time of the end of God’s management plan and it will be when God rewards the good and punishes the wicked. For the judgment of God will have ended before man sees signs, when there is only the expression of truth. Those who accept the truth and do not seek signs, and thus have been purified, shall have returned before the throne of God and entered the Creator’s embrace. Only those who persist in the belief that ‘The Jesus who does not ride upon a white cloud is a false Christ’ shall be subjected to everlasting punishment, for they only believe in the Jesus who exhibits signs, but do not acknowledge the Jesus who proclaims severe judgment and releases the true way of life. And so it can only be that Jesus deals with them when He openly returns upon a white cloud. They are too stubborn, too confident in themselves, too arrogant. How could such degenerates be rewarded by Jesus? The return of Jesus is a great salvation for those who are capable of accepting the truth, but for those who are unable to accept the truth it is a sign of condemnation. You should choose your own path, and should not blaspheme against the Holy Spirit and reject the truth. You should not be an ignorant and arrogant person, but someone who obeys the guidance of the Holy Spirit and longs for and seeks the truth; only in this way will you benefit” (“By the Time You Behold the Spiritual Body of Jesus, God Will Have Made Heaven and Earth Anew”).

Rapture Really Means Being Taken Up Into Heaven?

By Xiaojin

In a hot afternoon, cicadas were shrilling unceasingly among the trees. Scorched by the heat, the trees and flowers at the roadside held their heads down listlessly.

In a residential block, Wang Na forced herself to stay awake and continued, “The Bible says, ‘Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord’ (1 Thessalonians 4:17). From the state of the brothers and sisters in the church and the world situation we can see that the last days have come. Earthquakes have frequently been happening around the world; the international situation has been turbulent. Many people have died in the flames of war, and many houses have been destroyed. The number of refugees in the world has sharply increased. Famine, plague, floods, and droughts are also gradually spreading. The prophecies of the Lord’s return have basically been fulfilled. Therefore, the Lord should return soon to bring us into the kingdom of heaven. At that time, we will all meet the Lord in the air. We should have faith in the promise of the Lord.”

How to Enter the Kingdom of Heaven?

Wang Ting

Description: He once thought he could enter the kingdom of heaven by laboring for the Lord. But his frequent sin made him doubt whether people who work hard for the Lord but are not purified can enter the kingdom of heaven.
