The Reason Why Jesus Said “It Is Finished” Is Closely Connected With His Return

By Lingling

That Sunday morning was just like any other as I opened my Bible and began my spiritual devotions, when I then saw Hebrews 9:28 that said: “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin to salvation.” Thinking about it carefully, I couldn’t help but feel confused. “That can’t be,” I thought. “Didn’t the Lord Jesus saying ‘It is finished’ upon the cross mean that God’s work to save man was totally finished? When the Lord returns, we can immediately enter heaven and will feast with the Lord, so how come this says that the Lord Jesus will appear again to save man when He returns? What on earth does it all mean?”

Does the Triune God Exist?

By Xinzhi

The Origin of the Trinity

For two thousand years, the entire religious community has believed that God is triune. For the Bible records, “And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending on him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Mark 1:9-11). “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:18-19). “And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will”(Matthew 26:39). Therefore, we naturally believe God is triune and consists of the Holy Father, the Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit. They have different Persons and exist in one being. Thus, God is the only true Triune God. However, have we ever thought such questions? Since God is the only one true God, how can He be called the Trinity? Since there is only one God, why is He called triune? The Holy Father is God, the Holy Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is also God. In this case, is there three Gods or only one God? None can explain this clearly over two thousand years, and this is an unsolved mystery.

The Lord Jesus Christ Is God Himself

by Zhang Li

One morning, when my daughter and I were studying the Bible together, we saw these verses: “Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us. Jesus said to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father? Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works” (John 14:8-10). Wearing a look of confusion, my daughter asked me, “Mom, when the pastors and elders preach, they all say that the Lord Jesus is the Son of God, but right here the Lord Jesus said to Philip: ‘he that has seen me has seen the Father.’ ‘I am in the Father, and the Father in me.’ Mom, how are we meant to understand the words of the Lord Jesus?” Hearing that, I gave it some thought, but couldn’t think straight. I was at a loss how to answer my daughter.

Does “It Is Finished” Said by Jesus Mean Man Was Fully Saved?

By Liang Xin

The bitter north winds hit land with fury, causing a precipitate drop in the temperature. Snowflakes started to flutter down.

In the room, Jingxin, Hu Li and Liu Xin were sitting around the table studying the Bible together. Noticing that Jingxin was somewhat distracted, Hu Li asked with concern: “Sister Jingxin, what’s the matter? Aren’t you feeling well?”

Why Does the Lord Jesus Call Jehovah Father?

By Xiaojie

One day when reading the Bible, I came across the following verses, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, see, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting on him: And see a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:16-17), and the Lord Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will” (Matthew 26:39). I thought to myself, “Since God called the Lord Jesus His beloved Son and the Lord Jesus called God in heaven Father, the Lord Jesus must be the Son of God.” But then it occurred to me, “Isn’t there only one true God? How come there is the relationship of Father and Son?” With this question, I consulted many spiritual books, but to my disappointment, none of them could resolve my confusion.

Why Did Jesus Christ Only Give Peter the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven?

By Yang Qing

I Was Confused When Reading the Scriptures

This morning, after the morning prayer, I opened the Bible and read chapter 16, verse 19 of the Gospel of Matthew where the Lord Jesus said to Peter, “And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” When reading the verses, I thought: There were twelve disciples of the Lord Jesus, but why did He give the keys to Peter rather than the others? What did Peter do so that the Lord was so pleased with him? If I can figure these questions out and act according to Peter’s actions, then won’t I also earn the Lord’s praise and in the future enter into the kingdom of heaven? However, I still didn’t make them clear after reading these verses several times and then I had to eat breakfast first and go to work.

I Found the Answers After Consulting My Colleagues

During the lunch break, I inquired of a colleague who believed in the Lord, and she was glad to help me.

She said, “In the past I was puzzled by the scripture, too. Later, I read Matthew 16: 13-19 several times and contemplated them carefully. Thank God’s enlightenment. I came to understand the Lord’s will.

Why Did the Lord Jesus Call God in Heaven Father?

By Wang Ya

In the past, I saw the Bible recorded, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, see, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting on him: And see a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:16-17). Additionally, the Lord Jesus usually said “God the Father as He prayed. Therefore, I firmly believed that there was God the Father in heaven and the Lord Jesus was only the Son of God. But later, I read the words of the Lord Jesus, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30). And it is written in the Scripture, “Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us. Jesus said to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father? Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?” (John 14:8-10). Then I felt very confused in my heart: The God in heaven said that the Lord Jesus was His beloved Son.Also, the Lord Jesus called God in heaven Father in His prayers. Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus said, “He that has seen me has seen the Father; … I am in the Father, and the Father in me” (John 14:9-10). “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30). So, is the Lord Jesus really the Son or the Father? Ordinarily, the Son is the Son and the Father is the Father. How can they become one? With this confusion, I asked many brothers and sisters in the Lord, including pastors, elders and preachers. They all said that it was a huge mystery so that we man couldn’t explain it clearly by our mind. Consequently, this confusion was with me for many years.

What Is the Meaning of the Lord Jesus’ Salvation?

In the Age of Grace, since mankind had become more and more corrupt, they had no adequate sacrifices to bear their sins. Everyone was facing the danger of being put to death according to the law. Thus, according to the needs of mankind, God personally became flesh as the image of the Lord Jesus and was crucified and served as a sin offering for humanity, bestowing upon man the salvation of the crucifixion. From now on, our sins would be forgiven and we would no longer be executed by the law as long as we believe in the Lord, and pray to Him and confess. It can be seen that the salvation of the Lord Jesus is only the redemption. That is, God forgives us and no longer sees us as sinners. But the satanic nature within us has not been forgiven by God, so we still sin and resist God constantly. This proves that our sins have not been completely cleansed, and we have yet to receive God’s eternal salvation, nor can we enter the kingdom of heaven.

Is Jesus God or Son of God? Get the Answer From 4 Aspects

By Zheng Xi

After receiving grace and returning to the Lord, we read in Matthew 3:17 in the Bible, “And see a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Also, when the Lord Jesus preached to the disciples, He also called God in heaven the Father, saying when He prayed in Gethsemane, “O my Father,” which makes us think that the Lord is the Son, and this is what all who follow the Lord Jesus have thought over the past two thousand years. But some brothers and sisters also read in the Bible that when Philip asked the Lord Jesus to make the Father appear to them, the Lord Jesus said to Philip, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father? Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works” (John 14:9–10). Also, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30). So, some of our brothers and sisters are confused, “Since the Lord Jesus is God’s beloved Son, why does the Lord say, ‘I am in the Father, and the Father in me’ and ‘I and My Father are one’? Here it seems like the Lord is telling us that He is God Himself, and that the Father and the Son are inseparable, so is the Lord Jesus God’s Son or God Himself?” Let’s fellowship about this question today.

What Does It Mean to Be Born Again?

By Yanxi

sunrise and man

Speaking of being born again, I believe that all the brothers and sisters in the Lord know it and may think of the dialogue between the Lord Jesus and Nicodemus recorded in the Bible, “Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said to you, You must be born again” (John 3:3-7). The Lord Jesus told us that a man cannot enter into the kingdom of God unless he is born again, and that anyone who is not reborn will be eliminated by God. As can be seen, this requirement of the Lord Jesus is of great concern for every one of us that believes in and follows God.
