The Reason Why Jesus Said “It Is Finished” Is Closely Connected With His Return

By Lingling

That Sunday morning was just like any other as I opened my Bible and began my spiritual devotions, when I then saw Hebrews 9:28 that said: “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin to salvation.” Thinking about it carefully, I couldn’t help but feel confused. “That can’t be,” I thought. “Didn’t the Lord Jesus saying ‘It is finished’ upon the cross mean that God’s work to save man was totally finished? When the Lord returns, we can immediately enter heaven and will feast with the Lord, so how come this says that the Lord Jesus will appear again to save man when He returns? What on earth does it all mean?”

When Jesus Returns, Will He Still Take the Name of “Jesus”?

By Xiang Guangming

As believers in the Lord, we all know that God’s name is Jehovah in the Old Testament, and Jesus in the New Testament. We also know that the Lord once prophesied that He will come again in the last days. So here is a question: Will the Lord still be called Jesus when He returns? I believe most brothers and sisters will answer yes, because it is said in the Bible, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8), and “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). On the basis of these verses, we think God’s name will never change and the Lord will still be called Jesus when He comes again. But is this view correct?

The Story of Being Reunited With the Lord: Listening to God’s Voice and Welcoming the Lord

I used to be a preacher in a house church. I have worked for the Lord for many years, and have been looking forward to the return of the Lord Jesus. In 1996, I heard someone say that The Church of Almighty God was bearing witness that the Lord Jesus had returned in the flesh, and was doing the judgment work. However, in my opinion, the Lord should return as His resurrected spiritual body on a cloud, appearing to us openly. Since we haven’t seen anything like that, how could anyone say He’s come back? So, I never listened to the sermons of The Church of Almighty God.

I Have a Brand New Knowledge of the Final Judgment – A Christian’s Diary

By Liu Ming

April 12 Sunny

Today, in the gathering, our pastor read several verses about the judgment of the last days, “And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11-15). After reading these verses, our pastor said, “In the last days, when the Lord returns, He’ll erect a big table in the heavens to carry out judgment. The Lord will sit on the great white throne with several millions of angels around Him, and open the book of life and the book of the dead. Then, people will be brought before the throne one by one to receive His righteous judgment. There stands something like a screen, which will present our lifetime of actions and behavior. Then, God will determine our destination and ending according to our behavior: Those who do evil and those whose names aren’t recorded in the book of life, will be thrown into the hell to suffer the punishment, while those who do good and obey the Lord’s way will have their names recorded in the book of life and enter the kingdom of heaven, receiving the eternal life. This is the work of judgment carried out by the Lord in the last days.”

Listening to the pastor’s sermon, I imagined many majestic and spectacular scenes: The dead are brought before the throne one by one to receive God’s judgment, as if criminals are judged by the judge. Some are on their knees begging for mercy; some are weeping and gnashing their teeth. … I realized that the judgment was to punish the evil, reward the good, and determine our ending according to our behavior. “So as long as I pursue actively and act in accordance with the Lord’s words, I’ll certainly be raptured into the kingdom of heaven and gain the eternal life when the Lord returns.” At the thought of this, I felt cheerful inside.

What Kind of Person Should We Be in Welcoming the Lord’s Return?

Early this morning, my friend came to my home and read the Bible with me. We read John 9:1-39:

“And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither has this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him” (John 9:1–3).

“When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing” (John 9:6–7).

The Mystery of the Judgment in the Bible Is Revealed

Many brothers and sisters think that in the last days, the Lord will set up a big white table in the sky and sit on the throne to judge people one by one to determine whether they will go to heaven or hell. But did you know? The Bible prophesied that the Lord would become flesh to do the work of judgment on earth in the last days. For example, “With my soul have I desired You in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek You early: for when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness” (Isaiah 26:9). The Lord Jesus said, “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son” (John 5:22). Speaking of the “Son of man,” we know that the Lord Jesus is called the Son of man. He is the incarnate God, who looks normal and ordinary on the outside but has the divine essence. He could express the truth and do the work of God Himself. Therefore, the “Son of man” mentioned in the prophecy refers to God’s incarnation. It can be seen that the Lord would become flesh to carry out His judgment on earth in the last days.

In the Great Tribulation, How Can We Be Protected by God?

Recently, the pandemic has flared up again in many countries. The situation is particularly severe in India: It has recorded the highest one-day tally of new Covid-19 cases anywhere in the world, and the death toll is growing rapidly. The pandemic is completely out of control. The epidemiologists in India warned that the triple mutation (B.1.618) has been detected in many states in India, and that it’s more infectious than other strains. Many people live in panic and fear and are at a complete loss, worrying that they and their family members will be infected, and even more afraid of dying or losing their loved ones. Besides this, various countries around the world are seeing increased famines, earthquakes, floods, and wars. Facing the ever-greater disasters, people can only call continuously to the Lord for His care and protection. However, have we ever thought about the following? What exactly is God’s intention when disasters strike? How can we survive the disasters? Let’s fellowship about this issue today.

What Will Jesus Look Like When He Returns? Will He Still Be in the Image of a Jew?

Revelation 3:11 says: “Behold, I come quickly….” Many brothers and sisters in the Lord read this verse and believe that when the Lord returns, He shall still descend among His sincere believers in the image and clothes of a Jew because He ascended to heaven in a Jewish image. Just as the Bible says: “You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). We have waited for so many years, and now in the last days, prophecies of the return of the Lord have come true. However, none of us see the Lord Jesus arrive among us in the image of a Jew. We can’t help but wonder: Will the Lord really appear to us in a Jewish image when He returns? We ought to clarify this issue for this indeed, is with regard to the great matter of whether we can welcome the Lord’s return. Let’s look back on what kind of images God took when He appeared to man.

What’s the Way for the Coming of Jesus?

April 11, 2017

Sunny

Recently, I felt that there was no light at all when I read the Bible. Although I had kept praying every day all along, there was no moving in my spirit, and I felt as if the Lord hid His face from me and didn’t heed me. For in the past over ten years, my greatest wish was to be taken into the kingdom of heaven by the Lord when He returned; I feared that I would be abandoned when the Lord came.

Previously, I saw Matthew 24:30 and 26:64 and Mark 13:26 all said that the Lord would come upon a cloud. Especially when I read Revelation 1:7: “Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen,” I was certain that the Lord would descend on a cloud when He returned, and that all men would see Him. Therefore, I often prayed for this, asking the Lord not to abandon me when He came upon the cloud to take His believers. Several days before, I read Matthew 25:6: “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him.” It could be obviously seen from this verse that Jesus would come at midnight. Then I was somewhat worried in my heart: We might all fall asleep at that time, so how will we be able to know it when Jesus comes with clouds? I asked a sister next door, “In what way can we be watchful so as not to be abandoned by the Lord?” “The only way is to pray,” she replied. I was a little disappointed after hearing her words. I said to her, “I just want to know whether there’re other ways except praying.” She blinked and said nothing more.
