Question: After the fellowship, I know that our understanding of rapture by the Lord is from man’s imagination. It’s seriously against the word of the Lord. So what should we do now to be raptured at His return?

In 1990, I believed in the Lord Jesus in the stream of recovery. When I first believed in the Lord, I was full of confidence and had never missed each meeting. Owing to my enthusiastic pursuit, the leader promoted me to be a co-worker of the church. In a co-workers meeting, the leader said, “Now there appears a denomination called the Eastern Lightning. They say the Lord has returned. As co-workers of the church, we must fulfill our duty, watch our lambs and prevent the followers of the Eastern Lightning from stealing them.” I kept what the leader said in mind and made a resolution inwardly: I must take good care of the lambs and be a man loyal to the Lord.

He which testifies these things said, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

We Christians all hope that we could change form and become holy in an instant, and be raptured into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord returns. However, the Lord Jesus said plainly, “Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Mat 7:21). The word, said by Paul, that we will be changed immediately when the Lord returns, contradicts with what the Lord Jesus said. Then, is Paul’s viewpoint right on earth? Will we be raptured in an instant when the Lord returns? What is really the approach to entering into the kingdom of heaven?

The word “manna,” I believe, is familiar to every brother and sister in the Lord, as it is recorded in the Old Testament that, after Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, they stayed in the wilderness for forty years, during which time God sent manna from heaven to feed them every day. At that time, the manna bestowed by God was the material food, which the Israelites needed most to survive in those days.

Today I will fellowship the truth of resurrection of the dead with you. Let us read the Bible first. Ezekiel 37:5-6 records, “Thus said the Lord Jehovah to these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live: And I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am Jehovah.” The Lord Jesus said, “And this is the Father’s will which has sent me, that of all which he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day” (John 6:39). And 1 Corinthians 15:52-53 says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” There are many other verses in the Bible about resurrection of the dead, yet here we won’t study them one by one.

For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in His day.
– Luke 17:24

When the Lord Jesus came to earth to do His work in person, all those who believed in Him came under His name. The apostles spread the gospel everywhere, and connected together all the brothers and sisters who had accepted the salvation of the Lord Jesus and come under His name, uniting them into one in Christ. They only followed Jesus Christ. Just as the scriptures read, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4:5–6). Therefore, there weren’t different denominations in the age of apostles.
